Graspop Metal Meeting
Every
year more than 100,000 heavy metal fans occupy the small
town of Dessel in Antwerp province for some serious
metal head
banging. The major act line-up from June 24 through June 26 for 2011
includes the legendary Ossie Ozborn, the Scorpions and Volbeat.
Take the free bus from the Mol train station direct to the festival

Big name rock bands
perform alongside young comers and new faces. Top names in the line up
for this year are Linkin Park, Coldplay and classic rockers Iron Maiden.
The beat goes on from June 30 through July

the

Cactus Festival Bruges
Quirky
Bruges is now more famous than ever from the flick filmed there,
but the alternative Cactus Festival has been rockin the place
for 30 years. Kate Nash, Trigger Finger and Janelle Monaé headline
2011's three day outdoor festival of Rock, Reggae,
Rap, Roots,
Rai
and
R&B
July 8 through July 10 at the magical Lake of Love
Park in Bruges. Looking for a
fun and low cost accommodation? Check into the Bauhaus,
a youth hostel in the center of Brugge complete with its own pub! Cactus

Lokerse Feesten
Right near Ghent, the town of Lokeren
welcomes rock, pop, hip hop, techno and world music festival fans for
a ten days from July 29 through August 7. Joe Cocker, Kelis and
Channel Zero are booked for the festival only a 5 minute walk from
the train

Finish the summer in August at the annual alternative music event held
on the Kiewit Festival Grounds near the town of Hasselt, in its 25th
year, August 18 through 20.
The Foo Fighters, Eminem and dEUS are the headliners.
Hasselt is one hour 20 minutes from Brussels with direct trains every
half
