TATTERSHALL CASTLE BAR & NIGHT CLUB
Paddlewheel Steamer Pub on the Thames

Tatershall Castle Pub Restaurant Embakment photoOlympics withdrawal? Looking for a unique pub stop after a day of exploring. Why not tilt an elbow and tip a pint on the Thames. The Tattershall Castle Bar and & Club is not a castle of stone but an old paddle wheel steamer of steel moored on the banks of the Thames in the shadow of the London Eye Observation wheel. At least when the sun shines from the south. The Tattershall Castle steamer once ferried passengers and freight on the Humber Estuary of the Thames in its working past, but now its only passengers are those tippling drinks in its 4 bars and below decks dining room. Two of the bars are on deck with views of the "London Eye" millennium wheel (See Riding the London Eye) on the opposite bank and Big Ben and Parliament down the river, if you crane your neck just a bit. In bad London Eye View Thames Pub photoweather large windows still allow views of the rainy London gloom from the warm comfort of the lower deck. The Tattershall Castle Pub is moored at the Victoria Embankment on the north bank of the Thames, at the base of the rail and foot bridge at the end of Northumberland Avenue. Located just a few blocks from Whitehall and the Churchill Cabinet War Rooms Museum and very near The Embankment tube station. Stop for a pint after a cruising tour of the Thames. It is also a few blocks from the Sherlock Holmes London Pub to add to a London "pub crawl".

The Tattershall Castle’s bars and restaurant are open all year from 11 am to 11pm. During the week on Mondays and Thursdays the club has live comedy entertainment and on the weekends on the bars turns into a DJ spinning disco nightclub with the dancing starting at 9pm until 3 in the morning. The floating ship pub has been recently refurbished and can get a bit crowded when the weather is nice. One of the best times to go is when the sun gets low and casts a golden light on the Parliament Houses, though of such an occurrence in subject to a bit of luck and fortune in London’s changeable weather. Admission to the nightclub is £5 before 10:00pm and then £7 after that. © Bargain Travel Europe
