The Sherlock Holmes Pub has been around since 1957 and boasts a re-creation of the Holmes and Watson Baker Street rooms study next to the restaurant. The display is one left over from a Holmes World Festival. Holmes was of course a fiction character and never seemed to visit a London pub, yet locals gather at happy hour on the street outside to bend an elbow and jaw about the latest mystery of day’s daily news. Congregating outside pubs in London is a common scene since the smoking ban chased London imbibers outdoors. But with London’s notorious weather don’t forget your deerstalker cap and your Brolly. © Bargain Travel Europe Web
